Fairy Products all Natural

Tools

You will need basic gardening tools,

  • trowel,
  • hand rake,
  • watering can
  • basic fertilizer,
  • potting soil,
  • or fresh loam,
  • some rocks,
  • choice of plants

Start your garden in early spring when growers first come out with their flowers, choose the ones with the healthiest stocks or stems. plant summer blooming bulbs at this time as well, remember to check on grown plant height. It will be important later on. Weeding is most important. Grass growing amongst the flfowers is most unhealthy for the plant as well as the general appearance of your garden.

Do not spread plants out in such a way as to have one here and one over there, group them, you can always seperate them later if they get crowded. It keeps the roots shaded and the soil more moist.

Living with tiny Spirits

I am in the midst of creating several of what I call "Fairy Gardens". or "Gnome villages",These lovely gardens consist of light and colorful flowers of both annual and perennial species. I even add a few special touches to give them a mystical appeal. I use ferns and little statues to brighten the dead spots and also have many toad and gnome houses that will invite the little folks to this special place. I would like to tell you how to make these places and also what flowers grow best in them. You will also attract humming birds and butterflies, which is a real plus as fairies are fond of them . Remember a "Fairy Garden" is a small garden..3 to 5 ft across. (usually)...

You will need more than soil, fertilizers and a green thumb....

It is helpful if you copy your original garden shape on clear plastic sheets before you start placing flowers on it, make several copies so you can have one for each planting season. You will have to overlap plantings so they will grow according to seasons and you will always have flowers blooming. If your garden starts to look overgrown, feel free to move your plants about and trim or divide them. Add a bird bath and a small pond for a magical effect.

Remember that some plants can be very toxic to your children and pets also to wildlife. So do your homework and read up on all the plants you are choosing to use.

Things you will need to consider

SEASONAL PLANTS

Spring- Crocus, Daffodils, tulips, dwarf lilacs, creeping phlox, ferns.

Summer- mini roses,oriental lilies,Johnny jump-ups,boxwood shrubs .

fall-Mums,geraniums, pansies, creeping sedum, gerber daisies.

Winter- Mulch- Mulch- Mulch! You want a good warm winter cover.

These little gardens and the treasures they hide need lots of care to keep them attractive to the gnomes and fairies, the More houses and doorways you supply the more your little community willl grow. The more items you supply like tiny garden tools and furniture the more likely they will stay in the community. Always leave a small pile of twigs for them to create thier own furnishings

Having children living near the gardens really helps keep the Fairies happy, as children tend to believe in the little people stronger than some adults. It is critical to believe that they exist. My grandchildren check the gardens on a regular basis in hopes of spotting one. In my profile you will read where I thought i saw some as a child.

My parents both said it was just a very active imagination......but is it really???

THE FAE: (faeries)

BANSHEE

The Banshee is solitary and exceptionally beautiful. She is much feared as her wails prophesize the death of someone nearby. The Banshee is the harbinger of upcoming doom to her mortal kindred.

BOGEYMAN

The Bogeyman only exists thru the collection of one's fears. Small positive thoughts will forever banish him.

BROWNIES

Brownies are very small Faeries who live near or with humans. They do their work at night and value their privacy. Brownies chase mean spirits from the home.

DARK FAERY

She rules over darkness, shadows, and the human dead. She is a force of nature; in light there is darkness, in darkness there is light.

ELVES

Elves are small and are great Magickal beings. They are kind and beneficial to humans. Elves are solitary and they hate cats.

FAERY GODMOTHER

The Faery Godmother brings special gifts to the newborn. She can bring golden apples, crystal, a silver spoon, a lucky star.

GNOMES

The Gnome is an elemental spirit living underground. Gnomes are associated with the earth.

MISCHIEF FAERY

This Faery, although naked, has an unusual fondness for clothes. He will loosen buttons, unzip zippers, untie shoelaces, etc.

PIXIE

Pixies are mischievous trixters. These tiny Faery folk enjoy leading travelers astray.

SYLPH

The Sylph is a fragment of the soul of the earth in Faery form, living in the timeless zone.

Sylphs, also known as Windsingers, are elemental air spirits claiming both Greek and Egyptian ancestry. As a whole, this miniature race is very beautiful. They are long-lived, reaching hundreds of years in age, yet they never seem to become old. Like other elementals, they possess the ability to shapeshift and may assume human form. Typically residing on mountaintops, they possess a hierarchy system, with their leader Paralda occupying the highest mountain of Earth.

Really great Hub. We have a fairy garden, and I think you're right about providing doorways. We have little doors with butterflies and things on them, on our tree stumps and house corners, as invitiations. We also put a couple of gargoyles at the entrance, like the ones that guard Notre Dam in Paris. Believe it or not, the garden has such a safe feeling now.
